CyberCertPrep ("we", "our", or "the App") is a cybersecurity certification exam preparation application available on Android and Web. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Authentication is handled securely through Firebase Authentication.

Usage Data

We collect data about how you use the App, including:

• Quiz attempts, scores, and progress per certification
• Bookmarked questions
• Session duration and study streaks
• Spaced repetition scheduling data

Payment Information

Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing (Android) or Stripe/Razorpay (Web). We do not store credit card numbers or payment details. Payment processors handle all transaction data under their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize the exam preparation experience
• To sync your progress across devices when you are signed in
• To power spaced repetition algorithms and weak-area analysis
• To display leaderboard rankings (anonymized display names)
• To process premium subscription purchases
• To improve our question content and app performance

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules that ensure only you can access your own data. Questions and progress are also cached locally on your device using an encrypted local database for offline access.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data may be shared only in the following cases:

• Leaderboards: Your display name and scores are visible to other users on certification leaderboards
• Service providers: Firebase (hosting/database), Google Play / Stripe / Razorpay (payments), Vercel (web hosting)
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our legal rights

6. Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand app usage patterns. These services collect anonymized, aggregated data such as screen views and feature usage. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the App
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your quiz history and progress data
• Opt out of analytics collection

8. Children's Privacy

CyberCertPrep is designed for professionals and students preparing for cybersecurity certifications. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules restricting data access to authenticated owners, and no storage of sensitive payment credentials.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
